Top 10 hostels in Amsterdam …decided by the guests who have stayed there in March 2010.
We have a newcomer in the top 10. On 7 there is Chill-House Hostel who scores a 100% on location.
The total customer rating is build up from 6 factors. What is the character of the place, how was the security, was the location any good, how was the staff, was it a good place to have fun besides sleeping and how clean was the hostel.
You have to decide for yourselves which of the above features is the most important to you.
The first places in the top 10 are filled with apartments and houseboats. number 1, The Amsterdam Cribs / Red Light, which offers only private rooms and no dorms, is the most favourite place with the highest ratings of character, location, and the security.

The Marie-Anns Houseboat/Deo Volente is the place to be for the most fun ( it is not big though, so if you want to meet people to have fun with you have to look to one of the hostels). Marie-Anns Houseboat/Deo Volente is also the cleanest of them all and has the friendliest staff together with the Lucky Lake Hostel (staff)
If you want to stay in a hostel (with a bar) and meet new people
the Flying Pig,
the Bulldog, or Durty Nellys Inn would be the first hostels in the top 10,
But as this is being the top 10 all of the places here are quite good ;-). Just look what you want to get out of the place you stay and what fits you the best. Ultimately the choice is yours 🙂

Every Friday throughout the year (if the streets are dry) well make a skate tour in Amsterdam of about 20 Kilometres. Anyone can join in for free under the condition that you are skilled skater who is able brake well.If it turns out you cannot keep up or if you are not skilled enough, you will be asked to quit and practise more before you join again. The volunteers try their best to make every skate tour through the city safe, still joining the Friday Night Skate is always at your own risk.
